1. Purpose and Scope
Ozapp buys products from U.S. retailers on behalf of customers in Ghana and Nigeria, ships them, clears customs, and delivers them. That model puts us in the middle of money movement, cross- border trade, and customs declarations — all of which are heavily regulated and all of which attract abuse. This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out how you may and may not use the Service. It exists to keep customers safe, keep our payment, logistics, and banking partners willing to work with us, and keep Ozapp compliant with the law in every market we operate in. It applies to everyone who uses the Service — account holders, people ordering on behalf of a business, and anyone you authorise to use your account or receive your deliveries.
2. How This Policy Fits With Our Other Terms
This Policy forms part of, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. Where this Policy adds detail to a rule in the Terms of Service, both apply. Where there is a direct conflict, the Terms of Service prevail. Related documents:
- Terms of Service — the main agreement between you and Ozapp, including prohibited items (Section 13), your warranties (Section 14), and account suspension (Section 25).
- Return & Refund Policy — when claims may be made and refunded, and what constitutes claim abuse.
- Shipping Policy — how Orders are shipped, cleared through customs, and delivered, and what is expected of you at each stage.
- Privacy Policy — how we collect and use personal data, including for fraud and AML screening. Capitalised terms used here — “Order,” “Retailer,” “Service,” “Serviced Market” — have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
3. Permitted Use and Your Core Obligations
Ozapp may be used only for lawful personal, household, or legitimate business purchasing that complies with the laws of the United States, the laws of your destination country, international sanctions and export-control rules, customs law, anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist- financing law, and our Terms of Service. Whenever you use the Service, you agree to:
- Use Ozapp only for lawful purposes, and only in ways permitted by this Policy and the Terms of Service;
- Buy products for genuine, legitimate purposes, and for delivery to a real recipient who has agreed to receive them;
- Give us true, accurate, and complete information, and keep it current;
- Order goods that are lawful to buy, lawful to export from the United States, and lawful to import into your country;
- Co-operate with reasonable verification, screening, and investigation requests, and provide additional documentation where we are legally required to obtain it;
- Treat our staff, delivery partners, retailers, and other customers with respect.
4. Account Integrity and Identity
Ozapp performs identity verification (KYC), business verification (KYB), sanctions screening, and anti-money-laundering checks. We may decline any transaction where identity cannot be verified. Your account is personal to you. You must not:
- Create or operate more than one account, or create an account after we have terminated a previous one;
- Register or use an account in another person’s name, or under a false, borrowed, or invented identity;
- Open or operate an account on behalf of someone who is barred from using the Service;
- Sell, rent, lend, or transfer your account, or share your credentials;
- Act as a front, nominee, or intermediary who places Orders for undisclosed third parties, or otherwise conceal the true purchaser or beneficiary of an Order;
- Submit forged, altered, borrowed, or stolen identity documents, or another person’s selfie or biometric data;
- Deliberately structure activity across multiple accounts, phone numbers, wallets, or recipients to stay under our limits or avoid verification;
- Exceed the phone-number and single-account controls in the Terms of Service. Ordering for family and friends. You may order a gift for someone else and have it delivered to them — that is normal use. What is not permitted is operating your account as a service for others, concealing who the real buyer is, or letting someone else use your identity or verification to transact.
5. Payment and Financial Conduct
You must not:
- Pay using a Mobile Money wallet, card, bank account, or other instrument that you are not authorised to use;
- Use stolen, cloned, or fraudulently obtained payment credentials;
- Allow your wallet or account to be used to move funds for another person (acting as a “money mule”);
- Deliberately overpay, or request refunds to a different person or instrument, in order to move value;
- Raise a chargeback or payment dispute for an Order you placed and received, or without first contacting us to resolve the issue;
- Reverse, dispute, or cancel a payment after we have purchased your item, other than as permitted by our Terms of Service and Return & Refund Policy;
- Circumvent payment verification, or attempt any form of payment fraud;
- Attempt to exploit exchange-rate movements, refund mechanics, or timing between payment and purchase for financial gain rather than to buy goods. Ozapp is not a money-transfer service. You may not use the Service to send value to another person, to convert currency for its own sake, or as a substitute for remittance or foreign-exchange services. Every payment you make to Ozapp must relate to goods you genuinely intend to receive. We may recover losses arising from fraudulent payment activity.
6. Financial Crime, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing
You must not use the Service to:
- Launder money, handle the proceeds of crime, or disguise the origin of funds;
- Finance terrorism, proliferation, or any unlawful organisation;
- Purchase goods with stolen payment credentials or with funds obtained unlawfully;
- Purchase stolen property, or goods you know or suspect to be stolen;
- Conceal beneficial ownership, or place Orders for an undisclosed principal;
- Structure or split transactions to avoid verification thresholds or reporting requirements. We operate a risk-based compliance program and may report suspicious activity to the relevant authority. Where the law requires, we may be prohibited from telling you that a report has been made.
7. Export Controls and Sanctions
You must not use the Service in a way that breaches export-control or sanctions law. This includes, without limitation:
- U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations;
- Sanctions administered by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC);
- United Nations sanctions;
- European Union and United Kingdom sanctions, where applicable;
- Sanctions and trade restrictions applicable in Ghana, Nigeria, or any other Serviced Market. You must not transact for, or on behalf of, any person or entity subject to sanctions, direct goods to a sanctioned jurisdiction, or attempt to evade licensing or trade restrictions. We screen Orders, customers, and recipients against sanctions and watchlists, and may refuse any transaction involving a sanctioned person, entity, jurisdiction, or restricted good.
8. Prohibited and Restricted Goods
You may not use the Service to acquire any item that is prohibited or restricted under Section 13 of the Terms of Service, under applicable law, or under our internal policy. Examples include, without limitation:
- Firearms, ammunition, weapons, weapon components, explosives, and fireworks;
- Illegal drugs, narcotics, and controlled substances;
- Prescription and restricted medical products obtained without proper authorisation;
- Hazardous, toxic, radioactive, and other dangerous materials;
- Human remains and human tissue;
- Live animals and illegal wildlife products;
- Counterfeit goods, stolen property, pirated software and media, and other infringing items;
- Digital products, licences, or subscriptions that cannot lawfully be transferred;
- Gambling devices and adult products where prohibited by destination law;
- Goods subject to export control or sanctions, or destined for a sanctioned party or jurisdiction;
- Items restricted or refused by customs authorities, airlines, freight carriers, or our payment partners;
- Any product we reasonably believe creates unacceptable legal, safety, operational, or reputational risk. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. You must also not attempt to obtain a prohibited item by disguising it, mislabelling it, ordering it in component parts, routing it through a different retailer, or submitting a link that conceals what the product actually is. Every Order, including every product link you submit, is screened before purchase. If an Order fails screening we decline it and refund under the Terms of Service. We may inspect packages where legally permitted. Repeated attempts to order prohibited goods are treated as a serious breach of this Policy. Section 19 of our Shipping Policy sets out the carrier and aviation restrictions that also apply.
9. Customs, Duty and Declaration Compliance
Ozapp acts as, or arranges, the importer of record on Orders. Customs declarations are made in our name and on our licences, so a false declaration is our exposure as well as yours. You must not:
- Evade, or attempt to evade, customs duty, import taxes, levies, or clearance obligations;
- Under-declare or misstate the value of goods;
- Mis-describe, mislabel, or conceal the nature or contents of goods;
- Ask us to falsify an invoice, declaration, shipping document, or customs entry, or to mark a purchased item as a gift or sample when it is not;
- Split a commercial consignment into smaller Orders or across recipients to disguise its nature or avoid duty or clearance obligations;
- Avoid a permit, licence, or import restriction that applies to the goods you have ordered. Requests to misstate value or contents will be refused and investigated, and may be reported to the relevant customs authority.
10. Ordering and Product-Link Conduct
When you order from our catalog or submit a product link, you must not:
- Submit links to prohibited, restricted, counterfeit, or infringing goods;
- Submit links to malicious, deceptive, or phishing websites, or to pages that misrepresent the product;
- Place Orders you do not intend to pay for or receive, or place speculative Orders in bulk to reserve stock or test our pricing;
- Use the Service to scrape, harvest, or benchmark Retailer pricing or our fee calculations for a competing service;
- Automate ordering through bots or scripts without our written permission;
- Deliberately exploit a pricing, fee, discount, or currency-conversion error. If a price is obviously wrong, tell us; we may cancel and refund affected Orders.
- Misrepresent a product’s category, or structure or split Orders, to obtain a lower category rate or to evade a sea-only, air-only, or custom-quotation shipping designation;
11. Retailer Compliance
Ozapp purchases from third-party Retailers as buyer-of-record, using our own accounts and payment instruments. Conduct that breaches a Retailer’s rules puts those accounts — and therefore our ability to serve every customer — at risk. You must not ask us, or use the Service, to:
- Violate a Retailer’s terms of sale or conditions of use;
- Circumvent a Retailer’s purchase limits, per-customer quantity caps, or regional restrictions;
- Obtain products through deceptive means, or by misrepresenting who the buyer is;
- Exploit a Retailer’s pricing error, promotional fault, or technical vulnerability;
- Participate in unauthorised resale, bulk-buying, or scalping schemes, including for limited- release or allocated products;
- Acquire products a Retailer prohibits from export or from sale to your destination country;
- Abuse a Retailer’s return, warranty, or customer-service processes through us. We may decline any Order that would breach a Retailer’s terms, and may share information with a Retailer where necessary to investigate or resolve misuse.
12. Shipping, Delivery and Warehouse Conduct
You must not:
- Provide a false, incomplete, or third-party delivery address without authority, or a recipient who has not agreed to receive the shipment;
- Use our U.S. warehouse address for shipments unrelated to an Ozapp Order, or as a general mail-forwarding, storage, or personal-import address;
- Direct goods to an address in a country we do not serve, or attempt onward export from your Serviced Market in breach of any law;
- Ship, or attempt to ship, prohibited items, concealed restricted goods, or improperly packaged hazardous goods;
- Repeatedly refuse deliveries, or fail to collect shipments, without good reason;
- Impersonate a recipient, or collect a delivery you are not entitled to receive;
- Interfere with, obstruct, or attempt to enter our warehouse or delivery operations.
13. Claims, Returns and Refund Conduct
Our Return & Refund Policy allows claims for damaged items, wrong items delivered, and items lost in transit. There are no change-of-mind returns at any stage. You must not:
- Claim an item was damaged, wrong, or undelivered when it was not;
- Damage an item deliberately, or after delivery, and present it as damaged on arrival;
- Misrepresent the condition of an item;
- Submit altered, staged, reused, or fabricated photographs, video, or documents in support of a claim;
- Keep an item and its refund, or fail to return an item we have collected or asked you to return;
- Return a different, used, substituted, or emptied item in place of the one delivered;
- Submit repeated or excessive claims that are inconsistent with normal use;
- Use a chargeback as a substitute for a claim under our Return & Refund Policy.
14. Promotions, Referrals and Credit
Where we offer discounts, referral rewards, promotional codes, or e-wallet credit, you must not:
- Create fake, duplicate, or automated accounts to claim rewards, or refer yourself;
- Sell, trade, or publish codes intended for a specific customer or a limited audience;
- Combine or reuse offers in ways the terms of the offer do not allow, or exploit a technical fault to multiply a benefit;
- Place and cancel Orders in patterns designed to extract promotional value. We may withdraw promotional value, reverse credit, and cancel affected Orders where an offer has been abused.
15. Resale and Commercial Use
Ozapp is built primarily for personal, household, and legitimate business purchasing. You must not use the Service to resell goods in breach of any law, of a Retailer’s terms, or of a manufacturer’s distribution or authorised-reseller restrictions. If you are buying for a business — for stock, for resale, or in commercial quantities — tell us and use a verified business account (Section 20). Presenting commercial purchasing as personal consumption, in order to avoid duty treatment, licensing requirements, or our limits, is a breach of this Policy and may also breach customs law.
16. Intellectual Property
All Ozapp content — including our trademarks, logos, software, designs, text, and images — belongs to Ozapp or its licensors, and no rights are granted to you except as expressly stated. You must not:
- Copy, reproduce, or reuse Ozapp branding or content without our written permission;
- Infringe the trademarks, copyright, or other intellectual-property rights of Ozapp, a Retailer, a manufacturer, or any third party;
- Upload or submit copyrighted material you have no right to use;
- Use the Service to acquire, distribute, or resell counterfeit, pirated, or infringing goods. We respond to credible intellectual-property complaints and may remove content, decline Orders, and restrict accounts involved in infringement.
17. Platform, Security and Technical Conduct
You must not:
- Access, or try to access, any account, system, or data that is not yours;
- Probe, scan, or test the security of our systems, or attempt to defeat authentication, rate limits, or fraud controls;
- Introduce malware, or use the Service to distribute malicious code;
- Launch a denial-of-service attack, or otherwise overload, disrupt, or degrade the Service;
- Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-extract content, pricing, or personal data from the Service;
- Use bots, scripts, or automated tools against the Service, or access it through unauthorised interfaces or reverse-engineered clients;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive our source code, models, or fee logic;
- Interfere with another customer’s use of the Service;
- Circumvent geographic, device, or account restrictions, including by disguising your location to appear in a market we do not serve. Security researchers. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, report it to us using the contact details in Section 29 rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue action against good-faith research that is reported promptly, causes no harm to customers or their data, and does not involve accessing, altering, or exfiltrating real customer information.
18. Content and Communications
Where you submit content — reviews, messages, support tickets, product links, images, or account details — you must not submit anything that is:
- Unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or sexually explicit;
- Hateful, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory;
- Infringing of another person’s intellectual property or privacy;
- Deceptive, including fake reviews and misleading claims about Ozapp or a Retailer;
- Another person’s personal data that you have no right to share;
- Spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotion of a competing or unrelated service. You must not impersonate Ozapp, our staff, or our partners, or hold yourself out as authorised to act for us. We may remove content that breaches this Policy and restrict the accounts responsible.
19. Conduct Toward Our People and Partners
Our team, delivery riders, warehouse staff, and partners are entitled to work without abuse. You must not threaten, harass, insult, intimidate, stalk, or discriminate against them, whether in messages, on calls, on social media, or in person. Threats of violence and abusive conduct toward a delivery agent are treated as a serious breach and may be reported to the authorities. We will support our people in ending any interaction that becomes abusive, and may restrict an account to written channels or terminate it on this ground alone.
20. Business and Corporate Accounts
If you use Ozapp for a business, you must register the business, complete business verification (KYB), provide accurate registration and ownership information, and supply any supporting documentation we reasonably request. You must not use a personal account to disguise business activity or avoid compliance requirements, or a business account to transact for undisclosed third parties. You are responsible for everyone you authorise to use your business account, and for their compliance with this Policy.
21. Transaction Limits and Circumvention
We set purchase, transaction, and cumulative spending limits, and may require additional verification or enhanced due diligence before higher-value activity is processed. Current limits are set out in Section 12 of the Terms of Service and may be adjusted at any time, including for individual accounts based on risk. You must not attempt to circumvent these controls — for example by splitting purchases across Orders, accounts, wallets, phone numbers, or recipients; by using another person’s account or identity; or by any other means designed to avoid verification, limits, or reporting. We may refuse transactions that exceed our risk tolerance or applicable regulatory requirements.
22. How We Monitor and Enforce
To protect customers and meet our legal obligations, we screen Orders and product links before purchase, verify identity, and monitor accounts, transactions, and support communications for fraud, sanctions, and money-laundering indicators, as permitted by applicable law. Monitoring uses both automated systems and manual review; where an automated check would materially affect you, a person can review it. Our Privacy Policy explains how this data is handled. We investigate proportionately — we may ask you for information, request documents, hold an Order while we review it, or contact a Retailer, carrier, or payment partner. We do not have to warn you before acting where doing so would prejudice an investigation, breach the law, or risk loss.
23. Enforcement Actions
Depending on how serious the breach is, whether it looks deliberate, and whether it has happened before, we may take any of the following steps — in any order, and more than one at a time: Action When we typically use it Warning A first or minor breach that appears unintentional and causes no loss An Order that fails screening, exceeds a limit, or raises a fraud or Order held or declined compliance flag Goods already in our control that raise a compliance, customs, or safety Shipment held concern Repeated borderline activity, or an account that cannot complete Limits reduced verification Abuse of a specific feature — for example, link submission, promotions, Feature restricted or claims A pattern of conduct that makes continued service commercially or Future purchases declined legally untenable Account suspended A serious breach, a pattern of breaches, or while we investigate Fraud, sanctions or AML concerns, threats of violence, or repeated Account terminated serious breach Funds withheld or unwound Where required by law, or to prevent loss from fraudulent activity Recovery of amounts owed, and of duties, penalties, and costs we incur Recovery of losses because of your breach Reporting to payment providers, logistics partners, retailers, regulators, Reporting or law enforcement where required or warranted We aim to act proportionately and, where it is safe and lawful to do so, to tell you what we have done and why. Suspected fraud, sanctions exposure, money laundering, threats of violence, and attempts to obtain prohibited goods may result in immediate termination without prior warning.
24. Consequences for Your Orders and Funds
If we act on your account under this Policy:
- Orders we have not yet purchased may be cancelled, and amounts you paid for them refunded;
- Orders already purchased or in transit may be held, returned, or completed at our discretion, subject to law;
- Promotional credit, referral rewards, and discounts may be withdrawn;
- Where the law requires, funds may be frozen or reported, and we may be prohibited from telling you why;
- We may recover losses, costs, duties, penalties, and charges we incur because of your breach, and you remain liable for amounts you owe;
- Where goods are seized, surrendered, or destroyed by customs or a carrier because they are prohibited or restricted, no refund is guaranteed.
25. No Obligation to Process Any Transaction
Subject to applicable law and to your non-excludable rights under consumer-protection law, Ozapp may decline, cancel, suspend, hold, or refuse any Order, payment, or shipment that in our reasonable judgement presents legal, regulatory, compliance, fraud, security, operational, safety, or reputational risk — whether or not this Policy expressly addresses the conduct concerned. Where we decline an Order before purchase, we refund the amounts you paid for it in accordance with the Terms of Service.
26. Reporting a Violation
If you believe someone is abusing the Service — using your identity, running fraudulent Orders, or otherwise breaching this Policy — contact us using the details in Section 29. Tell us what happened, when, and any Order numbers or account details you have. Report suspected security vulnerabilities the same way, following Section 17. We treat reports confidentially so far as we are able.
27. Appeals
If we restrict, suspend, or terminate your account and you believe we have made a mistake, you may ask us to review it. Contact us within thirty (30) days, quote your account or Order details, and give us any information that supports your case. A person who was not responsible for the original decision will review it wherever practicable, and we will tell you the outcome. In some cases — for example, where a legal or sanctions obligation applies — we may be unable to reverse a decision or explain it in full.
28. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time as laws, regulatory requirements, operational practices, security standards, and the Service change. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice through the Service. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the updated Policy.
